This is probably an history lesson to the younger nationalists. In the recent past we had proper soldiers within the British Army and Armed Forces. One of these men was Colonel Colin Campbell Mitchell (Mad Mitch) of the ARGYLE & SUTHERLAND HIGHLANDERS, a very tough Regiment, who this writer served with in early 1973, near Stirling. The media nicknamed him 'Mad Mitch', but he was a proper soldier who was a real Officer and leader of his men. Another real soldier was General Sir Walter Walker, who was General Officer Commanding in Malaya and surrounding, like Mitchell in the 50's&60's. Please read up on these men. Both of these men were kept well away from Northern Ireland . I wonder why ?
