But they were all sent back identical letters from Tory MPs.
SAS sniper Robin Horsfall, 59, the hero of the 1984 Libyan Embassy siege, said: “It makes me angry to see MPs not taking the matter seriously and using letters to hide behind legal niceties and pretending there is nothing they can do. These letters are insulting and show the lackadaisical manner in which the Government is tackling this issue.”

Another Northern Ireland veteran, former Grenadier Guard Alan Barry, 52, received an identical response from his MP.
He said: “You only ever see your MP when they want your vote. I would have a lot more respect if they came out and supported the troops rather than sending out these party statements with their names on.
“They are just toeing the party line.”

MPs who sent identical letters include former Defence Minister Philip Hammond and ex-soldier Andrew Mitchell.
Fellow Tory MPs Peter Aldous, Andrew Turner, Alex Chalk, Robin Walker, Rebecca Pow, Adam Afriyie and Jo Johnson also sent them.
The correspondence dismisses fears that the former servicemen are being hounded under the Tory Government.
The letter claims that “it is important to note that this is not a new investigation”.

And it speaks of an intention to “ensure the focus is on the terrorists who caused so much devastation and suffering”.
Mr Mitchell insisted he offered constituents a personal meeting.
Mr Walker said: “Every case raised with me has been taken up directly.”
The Conservative Party and other MPs involved were approached for comment.
